I like to approach sketching in an intuitive manner. I may begin with a general idea in mind, but I allow each line to inform the other. I act and then react to balance the imagery around it. Its a playful sort of experimentation. The key for me is to stay loose and maintain a sensitive touch. The more whimsical the line the better.
Your figure work on the top right looks really fluid. You always had a knack for freehand drawing, and you've improved over the years. The whole thing is ++nice!
